What is our experience?

Curt Obront has over 30 years of trial experience and has been a civil and criminal trial lawyer since 1984.  He has been selected for the Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rating for being preeminently qualified in his field as judged by fellow attorneys.  He has also been recognized by the media for his trial work in various civil and criminal cases.  He has received awards; including the “Best Defense” by the Miami New Times in 2000 for the federal criminal defense of an International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) union member acquitted on federal drug smuggling charges in the United States District Court in Miami. He was recently recognized by The National Trial Lawers Top 100 Trial Lawers (2013)


Curt Obront has tried over 100 cases in both state and federal courts throughout the country including approximately 23 different states and U.S. territories; including the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.   Mr. Obront has tried to a verdict or settled a wide variety of cases in civil courts, family courts, criminal courts and probate courts.


Firm member Curt Obront was admitted to the Florida Bar in July of 1984 having graduated from Nova University School of Law where he was a member of the Law Review.


Mr. Obront has had the honor and privilege to have tried a wide ranging variety of cases, spanning from Racketeering (RICO); money laundering; bribery; narcotics; medicare fraud; and mortgage fraud cases in federal court to wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases in state court.  This has allowed Mr. Obront to represent diverse clients ranging from doctors, lawyers, and artists to longshoreman harbor workers and regular, hard-working, blue collar workers.  It is this diversity in both clients and areas of practice which made the practice of law, from Mr. Obront’s perspective, interesting and exciting.
